DAS work Still Life in the Windy City was exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in the spring of 2025. Originally created for the 4th Chicago Architecture Biennial, the piece was later acquired by the museum. Click here for more images.

From January 8 to January 10, 2025, Li Han and Hu Yan taught at the GUI Workshops hosted by the Knowlton School of The Ohio State University. As one of three workshops focused on models, “Columbus 1:100” offered a glimpse into some of Columbus’s most ordinary yet fascinating everyday spaces, captured through handmade models crafted by 24 participating students. The final models functioned not only as vivid sketches from life but also as personal reinterpretations of everyday spaces by their creators.

The final review of the Fall 2024 course NYC: As Built, taught by Li Han and Hu Yan of DAS, was held on December 13, 2024, at the Syracuse Architecture’s New York City campus. Throughout the course, students took on roles as journalists, editors, scriptwriters, model makers, photographers, and graphic novelists, crafting narratives to retell the lives of their invited interviewees in New York. By exploring the relationships between specific spaces, objects, and people, they constructed a story of the city.
